Type Item Name Scope
Type Pressure Vessel Type 1 The value of maximum usable pressure (MPa) multiplied by internal volume (㎥) exceeds 0.004, and vessel falls under any of the following.
  • A vessel that heats a solid or liquid by accepting steam or other thermal media or generating steam, and its pressure in the vessel exceeds the air pressure.
  • A vessel that generates steam according to a chemical reaction in the vessel, and its pressure in the vessel exceeds the air pressure.
  • A vessel that heats a liquid or generates steam to separate liquid substances in the vessel, and liquid temperature in the vessel exceeds air pressure.
  • Liquid temperature in the vessel exceeds boiling point in air pressure.
Type 2 Maximum usable pressure of gas in the vessel exceeds 0.2MPa, and vessel falls under any of the following.
  • Internal volume is 0.04㎥ or more
  • Internal diameter is 200mm or more (internal diameter is more than 300mm for steam head) and the length is 1,000mm or more.

Inspection to check installation status after installing machinery or equipment subject to manufacturing inspection

Subject to inspection Article 39 (2) of Enforcement Rule Of The Energy Use Rationalization Act

  • A person who intends to install, or to use by reengineering, machinery and
    equipment subject to inspection
  • A person who intends to use machinery and equipment subject to inspection
    by altering their place of installation
  • A person who intends to reuse machinery and equipment subject to inspection
    after suspending their use

Legal sanction Article 73 in Enforcement Rule Of The Energy Use Rationalization Act

Labor for not more than one year or a fine not exceeding 10 million won

  • Any person who fails to undergo an inspection of machinery and equipment
    subject to inspection, in violation of Article 39 (1), (2) or (4)
  • Any person who uses machinery and equipment subject to inspection,
    in violation of Article 39 (5)
  • Any person who imports machinery and equipment subject to inspection,
    in violation of Article 39 (3)
